The Tri Valley home sales for the month of January were a bit off, but remember sellers are gearing up and placing homes on the market for the spring, bringing up the available number of homes and sold homes for January were signed contracts from November and December which is normally a slower selling time. This throws off months supply slightly.

The New Lowes in Dublin, CA across from the Dublin Ranch Condos of the Villas is now open for business. Actually Lowe’s opened its new 117,000 sf. store in Dublin on the 14th. This Lowes in Dublin will also include a garden area in addition to the over 40,000 items in the store. So how much does it cost to build a store like the new Lowes in Dublin, CA? Well, according to a press release by Lowe’s, the company said it invested $18.5 million in building the store and expects to employ up to 175 people.

Major financial institutions and the Bush Admin. are looking into a plan to freeze interest rates for some Subprime borrowers. They are coming close to working out a plan that would on an individual basis look at borrowers and their ability to pay once interest rates reset. The details on how this will work is still up in the air, but it may be a fix or as CNBC says maybe just a band-aid.
